The meeting, which will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the Meeting Room on the 7th floor of the Aegean Exporters' Associations service building, will be attended by Hasan Önal, Head of the E-Export, Digital Marketing, Behavioral Public Policies and New Generation Technologies Department of the General Directorate of Exports of the Ministry of Trade.
Önal will provide assessments on e-export policies, government support for e-exports, and cross-border e-commerce practices.
As part of the program, exporters will also be informed about the trade opportunities, organization process, and participation conditions offered by the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE), the national participation organization of which is managed by the Aegean Exporters' Associations General Secretariat.
Muhammet Öztürk, Coordinator President of the Aegean Exporters' Associations, stated, “China, with its trade volume reaching $5 trillion, a population of 1,5 billion, and rapidly expanding middle and upper income groups, offers significant market potential for Turkish products. The fact that approximately 300 million consumers in the country enjoy a lifestyle and consumption level close to European standards presents important opportunities, especially for our high-quality and value-added products. The recent increase in the number of trade delegations from China to Türkiye and the invitation extended by the CIIE management to Turkish exporters are clear indications of the interest in our country. We aim to transform this interest into lasting trade relations and higher export figures.”
China's e-commerce ecosystem will be explained to exporters.
Muhammet Öztürk stated that China is important for Turkish exporters due to its large consumer base, advanced digital infrastructure, and high import capacity.
Öztürk stated, “China, besides being one of the world's largest import markets, also possesses one of the world's most advanced e-commerce ecosystems. With this meeting, we aim to provide our exporters with comprehensive and direct information regarding the Chinese market. The support provided by our Ministry of Trade contributes to our companies taking stronger steps in this journey. In our meeting, which will be held with the participation of Hasan Önal, our companies will have the opportunity to obtain the most up-to-date information directly about e-export policies and support mechanisms.”
Türkiye has been steadily strengthening its presence in recent years.
President Öztürk stated, “CIIE is one of the most important and prestigious import fairs on a global scale. Turkey has been steadily strengthening its presence in recent years. As the Aegean Exporters' Associations, we are undertaking the organization of Turkey's national participation in the fair, which will be held for the ninth time in 2026, and we are leading the way for our exporters to meet with Chinese buyers and establish lasting connections in the market. In the January-June period of 2026, our exports to China from Turkey as a whole increased by 32 percent, reaching $1.808 billion. In line with our goal of achieving a more balanced structure in our $41,6 billion trade deficit with China, we consider CIIE an important meeting point.”
“We aim for a stronger Turkish presence in Shanghai.”
Öztürk noted that Turkish companies that participated in the fair in previous years had established important business connections, and said that they aimed to create a strong Turkish presence with a broader participation at the 9th China International Import Expo.
Muhammet Öztürk stated, “Turkey has the potential to gain a larger share of the Chinese market with its high-quality production, strong supply infrastructure, competitive products, and wide product range. We see significant opportunities, particularly in food, agricultural products, natural stone, textiles, ready-made clothing, furniture, cosmetics, and health and wellness products. Our goal is to prepare our companies for the Chinese market, connect them with the right buyers, and sustainably increase our country's exports to China. We invite our exporters to both our meeting on July 24th and to participate under the umbrella of CIIE.”
The meeting will provide exporters with detailed information on current trends in the Chinese market, digital sales channels, e-export support, cross-border e-commerce applications, and the organization and participation processes of CIIE. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions directly to the experts.
