Adopting practices to reduce its environmental impact as a long-term strategy Barcelo IstanbulBarceló Istanbul received an award for its work in the field of sustainability. The award, given as part of the Beyoğlu Environmental Festival, organized for the second time this year by the Beyoğlu Municipality, highlighted the hotel's consistent performance in waste management. Barceló Istanbul was awarded in the "Hotel Collecting the Most Bedside Packaging Waste" category at the festival.
In the award evaluation, the key element behind the hotel's success was highlighted as the facility's detailed waste separation system. The proper separation and regular recycling of packaging waste, especially glass waste, were particularly emphasized. In this context, Barceló Istanbul's waste management practices, implemented throughout the year, were deemed worthy of the award due to their meticulous operational system.
Certificates and plaques were presented at a ceremony held at the Beyoğlu Environmental Festival in the Hasköy Event Area. The festival hosted various events aimed at raising environmental awareness and promoting a culture of sustainable living.

In the coming period, we will continue to improve our environmental performance in line with our understanding of sustainable tourism.
