Hilton is today introducing the revamped Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus , one of Istanbul's most iconic hotels overlooking the Bosphorus . This transformation of the hotel, which holds the distinction of being the longest-running Hilton hotel outside the Americas, reflects Hilton's approach to redefining the expectations of today's guests, while building upon its more than 70-year legacy as Istanbul's first international hotel.
The hotel reinvents itself with a renewed concept that blends its mid-century heritage with contemporary design, modern technology, distinguished event spaces, and a high-end gastronomic experience. All this takes place in one of the world's most culturally rich and dynamic cities.
Since opening its doors in 1955, the hotel has become one of the symbols of modern hospitality and international elegance in Türkiye. Playing a significant role in shaping Istanbul's social life, the hotel hosted the city's first large-scale weddings and international events, and also initiated many traditions that spread throughout the city, such as Istanbul's first "happy hour".
Today, it continues to be one of the city's important social centers, hosting social and business gatherings throughout the year.
The hotel offers a refreshed interpretation of the Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand, elegantly referencing 1950s travel culture. The transformation, encompassing a total of 475 rooms and suites, brings new dining and social areas, while maintaining the hotel's role as a major hub for celebrations, cultural events, and gatherings with over 4.000 square meters of event space. The iconic outdoor pool, inspired by Conrad Hilton's footprint and symbolizing his expansion beyond America, remains at the heart of the hotel; new renovations including a spa, indoor pool, and fitness area are scheduled for completion this summer.
Simon Vincent CBE , President of Hilton Europe, Middle East and Africa , stated regarding the hotel: “Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus was at the heart of Conrad Hilton’s vision to spread the light and warmth of hospitality to the world. Located in the heart of Istanbul, a city that has brought East and West together for over 70 years, we are proud to see this hotel carefully reinterpreted as it moves into the future. This transformation is a strong indication of our long-term commitment to Turkey.”
Leonard Gooz, Global Brand Leader at Hilton Hotels & Resorts, commented on the hotel's renovation process: “Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus is one of our most iconic hotels, with roots in the Conrad Hilton. For many years, it has been one of the strongest reflections of the Hilton story; an iconic meeting point where the city's energy comes alive with celebrations, shared moments, and unforgettable stays. For generations, it has been a place where culture thrives and moments are transformed into lasting memories. With this transformation, building on our strong heritage, we have brought together a rich history, modern design, and dynamic social experiences. In doing so, we have created a structure that will continue to shape how both guests and Istanbul residents experience the city for many years to come.”
Design Inspired by History
The building, designed by Chicago-based, world-renowned architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and Turkish architect Sedad Hakkı Eldem , has been reinterpreted with a contemporary perspective by Istanbul-based design studio Autoban . In this approach, the hotel's legacy dating back to the 1950s is blended with modernist influences and references to Turkish craftsmanship, art, and poetry.
The original architectural elements bearing the signature of Sedad Hakkı Eldem have been preserved, continuing to form the basis of the hotel's identity. The entrance canopy, reminiscent of a flying carpet, the outdoor pool which remains the largest hotel pool in Istanbul, and the handcrafted Çintemani motifs on the walls are among these elements that stand out.
Throughout the hotel, heritage details are meticulously reinterpreted; an approach ranging from design elements referencing the original 1955 logo to the restoration of traditional Turkish motifs symbolizing abundance and protection in the lobby. Soft lines inspired by Istanbul's seven hills and architectural touches referencing the city's domes are woven into the surfaces, shaping the flow and character of the common areas.
This design approach continues in the rooms as well. Inspired by the tones of the Bosphorus and the colors of the Istanbul sunrise, the interiors use natural materials such as marble, wood, metal, and leather to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Large windows, private balconies, and terraces open onto the city skyline, the Bosphorus, and the hotel's gardens.
Featured Suites
Four exclusive suites reflect different periods in the hotel's history. The Imperial Suite, located under the dome, references the legacy of Cloud 9, Istanbul's first discotheque, which was located in the hotel, while its private cinema room recalls the Hollywood stars who have stayed at the hotel over the years.
Bosphorus Suite is inspired by the serene tones of the Bosphorus; PresidentThe Royal Suite stands out with its expansive Bosphorus view. The Ambassador Suite, on the other hand, is dedicated to the heads of state and cultural figures who have stayed at the hotel over the years.
A New Era in Gastronomy
The dining experience is at the heart of the hotel's transformation, making Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus a vibrant meeting point at all hours of the day. This approach is rooted in a deep-rooted tradition of Turkish hospitality. Inspired by Conrad Hilton's experience in Türkiye of offering coffee and liqueur, the "welcome coffee" ritual has become a global symbol of Hilton hotels.
The hotel's signature restaurant , Malva , reinterprets the rich heritage of Turkish cuisine with modern techniques. Nearly forgotten regional recipes are presented with a contemporary approach using seasonal ingredients.
Sazzou offers a special atmosphere for the evening with carefully selected record sets, live jazz performances, and a powerful cocktail experience, all while referencing the hotel's strong history with music.
Located in the heart of the hotel , Lalou takes its name from the joy of conversation. Inspired by the elegance of the 1950s, this stylish brasserie and terrace area brings guests together with pastries, light snacks, and carefully crafted cocktails.
Arlo offers a modern gastronomic experience inspired by Istanbul's seven hills, while bringing together coastal flavors from Turkey, Greece, and Italy with a focus on sustainability.
Dragon , one of Istanbul's long-established restaurants, continues to offer authentic flavors of Cantonese and Czech cuisine.
Located around the pool , Bosolei brings the relaxed and elegant atmosphere of the French Riviera to Istanbul.

With event space exceeding 4.000 square meters, including the Ambassador Ballroom and the divisible Connie Ballroom, the hotel offers a total capacity of up to 2.500 people. Featuring outdoor garden areas and 17 meeting rooms, the hotel remains a leading venue for both social and corporate events.
A Peaceful Escape in the Heart of the City
