McDonald's Turkey is undertaking a meaningful collaboration with KEDV on International Women's Day, March 8th. As part of this initiative, 45 specially designed bags, crafted by women producers from various parts of Türkiye, will be distributed at restaurants and with Big Mac orders via McDelivery.® It accompanies the menus.
McDonald's Turkey Corporate Communications Director Tuğçe Altınsoy stated that more than 50% of their employees are women, adding, "We especially value supporting women in the provinces affected by the earthquake who are struggling to get back on their feet, and we continue to stand alongside them."
McDonald's TürkiyeOn March 8th, International Women's Day, in collaboration with the Women's Labor Appreciation Foundation (KEDV), the restaurant is showcasing handcrafted bags made by women producers to its guests. Offered free of charge to everyone who orders a Big Mac® menu from the restaurants or via McDelivery on this special day, these canvas bags carry a message of solidarity with their special design that highlights women's labor.
"Our priority is women producers in the earthquake zone."
An announcement regarding a collaboration specifically for International Women's Day on March 8th. McDonald's Türkiye Corporate Communications Director Tuğçe Altınsoy said, “Through the project we implemented with KEDV, we are contributing to the empowerment of women through production. We are gifting 45 bags prepared by women producers in Aydın, Malatya, and Kahramanmaraş to our guests. We especially value the fact that the handicrafts of women who are struggling to get back on their feet in the provinces affected by the earthquake reach more people, and that solidarity becomes a natural part of daily life,” he said.
"Our female employee rate has reached 50,5%."
Altınsoy stated that, in collaboration with KEDV, they support women in their production journey while also establishing a structure where women are more visible in the employment sector, and added the following:
“At McDonald's Turkey, we aim to unlock the potential of women in the workforce from all segments of society and empower their voices. We shape our employment policies accordingly. The fact that our female employee rate is expected to reach 50,5% by 2026 demonstrates the practical application of this approach. In our restaurants, women employees play active roles from the kitchen to the cashier, from team leadership to management positions. In the coming period, we will continue to provide employment opportunities for even more women through our flexible working practices.”
