The pear, native to Japan, attracted significant attention at GULFOOD 2026.
GULFOOD 2026 took its place at the heart of international trade by bringing together unique agricultural and food products from different countries with global professionals.
As HORECA TREND at GULFOOD 2026, we conducted an interview with Hiroyuki Konno, representative of Ichikawashi Agricultural Co-operative, about pears, a product unique to Japan.
Konno stated that they also participated in the fair last year, but this year the visitor interest was much higher. He shared that they observed that professionals who had experienced the product last year consciously returned this year to see it again.
Konno stated that they currently operate in the Southeast Asian and United Arab Emirates markets, and in the UAE, they are currently present in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. He emphasized that Gulfood 2026 provides an important platform for positioning their products in the global market.
