The Peninsula Announces 2026 Edition of its “Art In Resonance” Program.

The Peninsula Hotels announces the 2026 edition of its prestigious global art programme, “Art in Resonance,” a collaboration with the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) on a curated program . Entering its second year of this distinguished partnership, the 2026 edition will debut at The Peninsula Hong Kong in March 2026, coinciding with Hong Kong’s vibrant Art Month. This ongoing collaboration reinforces both institutions’ commitment to artistic excellence and global cultural exchange, and celebrates The Peninsula’s long legacy of cultural patronage.

Launched in 2019, “Art in Resonance” is positioned as a global art program that enables emerging and mid-career artists to create site-specific works that engage in dialogue with the hotel group’s architectural and cultural heritage worldwide. Within this program, the V&A, recognized as a world-leading museum of art, design, and performance, provides curatorial innovation and international expertise to a select work, building on shared values ​​such as artistic excellence, global creativity, and public engagement.

This partnership with the V&A provides unparalleled curatorial expertise and access to a broad network of emerging and mid-career artists, reinforcing the central role both institutions play as cultural leaders in luxury hospitality and museum practice. Following the success of “Art in Resonance,” an exhibition featuring works by internationally acclaimed Peruvian-born artist Grimanesa Amorós , at The Peninsula Istanbul in Fall 2025 , the program returns to Hong Kong, this time focusing on showcasing Asian artists on the international stage. The exhibition offers guests and visitors of The Peninsula Hong Kong the opportunity to interact with and experience these experiential artworks up close.

Hong Kong artist Angel Hui , commissioned to create a work specifically for the facade of The Peninsula Hong Kong, presents a public art piece that all of Hong Kong's residents can experience. Hui's selection, along with fellow "Art in Resonance" alumnus Kingsley Ng , to represent the city at the 61st Venice Biennale, further highlights the program's strength as a springboard for global talent. The artist's installation for the facade addresses cultural identity from a contemporary perspective, transforming the hotel's exterior into a dynamic canvas where heritage and innovation intersect.

Another work presented in collaboration with the V&A is a thought-provoking ceramic installation by Tokyo-based Indonesian artist Albert Yonathan Setyawan . Located in The Lobby, this work draws inspiration from the concepts of ritual, repetition, and sacred space, reflecting the program's approach to making cross-cultural artistic practices visible. Setyawan's site-specific work is curated by Dr. Louis Copplestone, V&A Curator for Southeast Asia . Copplestone, who previously held research fellowships at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Tokyo National Museum , is pursuing a doctorate in Buddhist art and architecture at Harvard University. Copplestone's curatorial approach enriches the intellectual and artistic dimensions of the program with his deep academic knowledge of Asian visual culture and global perspective.

Located on the first floor, next to The Verandah , the space showcases a new collaboration between architect-artist Dr. William Lim and luxury carpet brand Tai Ping . Lim, considered a leading figure in Hong Kong's architecture and design world, is known for his interdisciplinary approach. This work represents the second year of collaboration with Tai Ping's "Art in Resonance" program, continuing to explore concepts of material, heritage, and identity through design.

This year, “Art in Resonance” continues to expand across The Peninsula Hotels’ global portfolio, with specially produced works being brought to leading cities around the world. Among these is Lin Fanglu’s “ She’s Bestowed Love, ” exhibited at The Peninsula Hong Kong as part of the 2025 “Art in Resonance” program. The work is also on display at the V&A South Kensington in the exhibition Dimensions: Contemporary Chinese Studio Crafts until September 2026. A portion of the work will also be presented at The Peninsula London in February.
