Inspired by a true story, the film is built on a simple yet powerful narrative that carries the resilience, honor, and memory of Adana. Rather than grand historical narratives, the film focuses on the emotions and people that still keep the spirit of that day alive today, taking its starting point from Atatürk's words to his aide during his visit to Adana:This city reminds me of so many things… It was here, for the first time, that I felt this nation would not be enslaved. The film forms the basis of these words. This expression signifies not only a memory, but also the moment when belief in victory first transformed into a powerful emotion. The film conveys Adana's place in the struggle for liberation and its significance in the founding process of the Republic by focusing on the people and emotions that still keep the spirit of that day alive.
For Doğanay, their hometown is not just a starting point, but a fundamental bond that shapes the brand's character and stance. Therefore, instead of a re-imagined historical narrative, the film proceeds with a respectful, authentic, and sincere tone. The narrative reflects gratitude to Atatürk and Adana's struggle for liberation, offering a true glimpse into Adana's life during the founding days of the Republic of Turkey.
The mini-film, parts of which were shot in Adana, is directed by Tolga Karaçelik, who was awarded the 'World Cinema Grand Jury Special Award' at the Sundance Film Festival, known as the independent film festival of the USA, while Hakan Dinçkol, who has previously portrayed this character, plays the role of Atatürk.
