Şişecam, contributed to the exhibition of Åsa Jungnelius, one of the leading representatives of contemporary art, opening at the Pera Museum on its 90th anniversary, by collaborating on the production of glass works. The exhibition, which will meet art lovers at the Pera Museum from September 16, 2025 to January 18, 2026, “A Line Written with Earth, Fire, Water and Air” The exhibition titled “The Glass Works” includes glass works produced with the contributions of Şişecam glass masters.
In a collaborative production process conducted with Şişecam's experienced glass artisans, traditional molds were set aside and hot glass was freely shaped under the artist's guidance. During this collective production process, the masters created improvised forms using free-blowing techniques, demonstrating once again that glass is not only an industrial material but also a powerful narrative medium for art.
The resulting works, with their appearances both familiar and unfamiliar, have become sculptures that reflect the transformation of breath, labor, and material. This balance between glass's fragility and durability offers a new interpretation of its relationship with humans. Şişecam continues to cultivate the art of glass craftsmanship, passed down from master to apprentice, and to bring lasting value to the world of culture and art by integrating this heritage with contemporary art.
