Organized under the corporate sponsorship of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Turkey, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and Turkish Airlines, in partnership with the Turkish Hoteliers Federation (TÜROFED) and the Turkish Tourism Investors Association (TTYD), and under the main sponsorship of Türkiye İş Bankası, the meeting point of the international tourism world, EMITT – Eastern Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Fair, is preparing to shed light on the future of tourism. This year, it will host over 77 invited tour operators from a total of 650 countries, including the USA, Germany, England, Russia, France, South Africa, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Canada, India, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
The fair, which will host thousands of holiday consumers interested in new and exciting travel opportunities offered by holiday destinations and travel companies from all over the world, will offer the opportunity to meet with leading names in the sector throughout its three-day program, while sector trends will be shared and the expected development course in tourism in 2025 will be put under the spotlight.
Redefining Tourism: Bold Steps for a Sustainable Future
The EMITT Event Program, which will be held simultaneously with the fair, will enable the sector to create action plans for solutions to the problems that negatively affect the tourism sector in 2025. “Redefining” It will bring together many inspiring events with its theme that will enrich the fair experience with its audience and “Positive Tourism” In this context, it is aimed not only to eliminate waste but also to adopt an approach that adds value to nature and society, strengthens tourism and produces innovative solutions, while discovering new market opportunities with creative tourism products.
On the first day of the fair, which will start on February 5, 2025, after the official opening ceremony, the sector's 2024 assessment will be made on the conference stage and 2025 predictions will be discussed. The challenges faced in the tourism sector and the bold steps that need to be taken to overcome these challenges will also be discussed. In addition, global trend reports will be shared and the future period projection will be presented in the traditional Presidents' Session.
On the second day of the fair program, thematic panels will discuss how industry players can collaborate to create a more durable tourism model. Star names that will inspire the industry, influencers, and important hotel chains, service providers and local and foreign destinations will be on the conference stage.
On the last day of the fair program, good examples and strategies on how technology, sustainability, alternative tourism and artificial intelligence approaches can be applied will be shared. Interactive discussions will be designed where the audience can develop new ideas and find creative solutions.
