Tourism Students Are Hopeful About the Future of the Sector!

Global travel provider BookingAgora, came together with university students who aim to pursue a career in tourism. The tourism technology brand, which opened a stand at Istanbul University Tourism Management Department, also applied a "Future Expectation Survey" to the students. While 100 percent of the participating students answered yes to the question "Do you see a future in tourism?", the rate of those who want to do their own business in this field was 29.63 percent. 

BookingAgora Human Resources Manager Ödül Eda Çakıcıoğlu, expressed his satisfaction with the interest of young people in the sector with the following words: “As a rapidly growing initiative in the global market in the field of tourism technology, we explained the digital transformation of the sector and the opportunities it offers to students. We emphasized the importance of language education and gaining experience in operational processes. We saw that they could make a significant start in the sector with the career opportunities offered by BookingAgora. This awareness increased the students' motivation in the field of tourism.”

Job and Internship Opportunities Provided

The BookingAgora Human Resources team held one-on-one interviews with around 30 students as part of the event. Applications were received for internship and vocational training programs. It is stated that some students will be interviewed again in the continuation of the process and that these candidates will be offered vocational training and internship opportunities.
