Casa Lavanda and Narimor Receive Their First MICHELIN Stars
Located 40 kilometers from Istanbul city center, Casa Lavanda is a true haven of peace, spread over approximately 21.000 m² of gardens and vegetable gardens, serving both as a hotel and a restaurant. Chef Emre Şen, who heads the kitchen of this family-run business, skillfully combines the classic flavors of the Turkish repertoire with more Mediterranean touches, especially Italian. Whether it’s the al dente agnolotti stuffed with burrata and mascarpone or the succulent Black Sea sea bass served with vegetables picked from the garden, the chef’s plates tell a story of authenticity and sincerity. Committed to promoting local produce, highlighting seasonal products (80% of the fruit and vegetables come from the property’s vegetable gardens and its own seed bank), and maintaining strong ties with the surrounding communities, the restaurant has a stand at the Terre de Şile market, organized by the Slow Food movement, to sell the unused produce from the vegetable garden. Casa Lavanda was also awarded the MICHELIN Green Star.
In the kitchen of Narımor restaurant in Izmir, chef Atilla Heilbronn interprets local culinary traditions in a refined way, perfectly combining German roots with Turkish culinary richness. With only five tables that can accommodate a limited number of guests, Narımor offers an intimate and elegant experience where every detail is important. The menu combines expertly used culinary techniques with local products. The most notable of these are Apricot, Sea Bream, Sea Beans and Kefir. The apricot aroma enhances the exceptional cooking quality of the fish, while the powdered sea beans balance this flavor.
