Ekici Cheese Increased Its Market Share in Europe, USA and TRNC 

Turkey’s cheese specialist Ekici continues to expand in line with its global growth strategy, primarily in Europe, as well as in the US, Gulf countries and the TRNC market. Ekici Cheese, which achieved a 2023 percent growth in tonnage and a 10 percent growth in turnover in exports in 25, achieved significant growth especially in the US and TRNC markets in the first half of 2024. Ekici Cheese, one of Turkey's leading cheese producers, continues to strengthen its presence in the US, Europe, Gulf countries and TRNC markets as part of its global growth strategy. Ekici, which made its first export to Europe in October 2023 to Bulgaria, began shipping products to the German and Belgian markets in May 2024. The brand continues its investments to increase its market share in the TRNC, Europe, USA and the Gulf region in line with its global growth strategy.

“We aim to grow 2024 percent in tonnage and 30 percent in turnover in exports by the end of 50.” 

Stating that they have been bringing together the expertise that comes from cheese production for more than 60 years with cheese lovers both in Turkey and abroad, Burçin Ekici, General Manager of Ekici Cheese, “In 2023, we achieved significant growth in exports, especially in the US and TRNC markets, by achieving 10 percent growth in tonnage and 25 percent growth in turnover in the first half of 2024. By the end of the year, we aim to grow 100 percent in the US market, 30 percent in tonnage and 50 percent in turnover in general export performance. We plan to expand into new markets by strengthening our presence in European Union countries and to increase exports, especially to the Gulf countries, which are important markets for the dairy sector. We will increase our regional presence and product diversity, especially with the revival of the market in Saudi Arabia,” he said.

Ekici Peynir, which has exported to the USA, Iraq, TRNC, Germany, Belgium, Bulgaria, UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Libya, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, People's Republic of China and Malaysia, aims to grow in the German, Belgian and Bulgarian markets and deliver its products to other European Union countries and the UK in the medium term.

“We Use Renewable and Green Energy to Reduce Our Production Costs”

Ekici, who also emphasized that they invested in renewable and green energy to reduce production costs, continued his statement as follows: “Although exchange rate pressure continues, we are expanding our cash export channels and locations to reduce the interest burden of term financing. We make stock purchases at terms that will protect our profitability, and we strive to manage long-term purchases and sales with predictable financing costs in shorter terms. We use renewable and green energy to reduce our production costs.”

Ekici, which moved to its new factory with a daily milk processing capacity of 1997 tons in the Antalya Organized Industrial Zone in 480, has become a giant enterprise that processes approximately 136 million liters of milk per year and produces 24 thousand tons of cheese every year. According to research conducted by the independent research company Ipsos in 2017, it was chosen as one of Turkey's most popular cheese brands in the packaged cheese category.

The company, which is the 17th company in the Fortune 500 Turkey 2023 Research, which was conducted by Fortune Turkey and CRIF Turkey for the 490th time this year, and among the top 1000 companies of Turkey announced by the Istanbul Chamber of Industry, climbed 145 places this year and ranked 500th in the ISO second 36 list. Its goal for 2024 is to be on the top 500 list.

Materials

  • 250 g shredded wheat
  • 125g butter
  • 525 grams (850 mL) Golf Royal Gourmet Silifke Strawberry Ice Cream

For the syrup:

  • Half a tea glass of sugar
  • Half a tea glass of water (65 ml)
  • 1-2 drops of lemon juice

Preparation of

  • First, let's prepare our syrup. To do this, combine the sugar and water in a pot, stir, and bring to a boil.
