85 Thousand Coffees, 20 Thousand Fruit Juices

In its first year, approximately 85.000 coffees, 60.000 beers, 150.000 cocktails, 55.000 spirits and 20.000 juices, smoothies and milkshakes were consumed across the ship's seven restaurants, eight bars and Café Nation.

Celestyal Journey carries 32 guests along with a crew of 600, including eight married couples and 1260 relatives, who pride themselves on offering the warmth and personal touch of Greek hospitality.

Celestyal Journey will continue her seven-night “Idyllic Aegean” Greek Islands cruise and will embark on a new seven-night voyage departing from Doha in November. The ship will return to the Greek Islands in March of next year, departing from Kuşadası.

Celestyal Journey’s maiden voyage in the Arabian Gulf will begin on November 30, 2024, with a seven-night “Desert Days and Qatar Grand Prix” departure from Doha. The voyage will include a three-day stay in Doha, including the Qatar Grand Prix, followed by a one-night stay in Dubai Marina and stops in Khasab, Sir Bani Yas Island and Abu Dhabi.

Celestyal Journey’s seven-night ‘Desert Days’ cruise, which takes in the Arabian Gulf, starts at €7 per person. Departing from Doha, it includes stops in Dubai, Sir Bani Yas Island, Abu Dhabi and Khalifa Bin Salman (Bahrain). There will also be special New Year’s Eve sailings departing from Doha on 529 and 21 December this year.

Who wouldn't want an office with a view of the Aegean Sea?

Journey, which has completed its first year in the Celestyal fleet, was described by her crew as follows:

Frosa Katsis, an Australian instructor on Celestyal Journey, has been very pleased with her time on board this year: “I have worked on six different cruise lines with a capacity of over 3500 people. Celestyal Journey is a medium-sized ship, meaning fewer guests, but the same high standards in terms of food, accommodation and entertainment. Another difference is the destinations. The long-stay programmes allow us to experience both the day and night of the islands we visit. My favourite thing to do while preparing my training programmes on my computer is to work on the 8th floor with a view of the sea. My favourite thing on the land tours is talking to the locals and exploring the archaeological sites, I really enjoyed visiting Ephesus.”

Cruise Director Vladimir shared an unforgettable memory from his time on the ship: ''Once, after the evening show, we organized a marriage proposal on stage. The woman had no idea, the hall was full and I was so happy that she said 'YES'. Right after that, the couple's friends and other guests came on stage and we all danced together (it was a line dance, if I'm not mistaken). The couple was so excited and happy, they had so much fun. I think everything in this world is about peace and love – and being able to be a part of such a special moment made me realize how amazing my job is.''

Receptionist Irene expressed her feelings as follows: ''We always say that ships have a soul, and the soul of Celestyal Journey is its crew. They are like family to me, and we treat our guests with the same love and respect that we show each other.''

Cruise Tours Are the New Favorite of Turkish Tourists

Cruise travel, which is very popular in the world, has recently become the focus of attention of Turks. Attractive prices that have reached the same level as hotels have ensured that the number of participants in cruise tours has increased rapidly, reaching 124 thousand. The number one choice of Turkish tourists is the Greek islands. Visa-free Far East programs are also among the increasingly popular destinations.

The new preference of Turks who want to experience the comfort of a five-star hotel while also discovering new countries has become cruise tours. Once considered exclusive to people aged 40 and over with a “certain income level” due to high prices, cruise tours have begun to become the focus of attention for people from all walks of life as prices have reached the same level as hotels. With young couples, honeymooners and families with children also turning to cruise tours, the number of Turks who take cruise trips has reached 124 thousand according to figures from the Ministry of Transportation.

There is a Great Demand for Early Booking

Stating that cruise tours are an exciting travel option that offers a wide variety of activities, Coral Travel Türkiye General Manager Mehmet Kamçı “Coral Travel offers its guests at least 15 different concept Cruise Tour alternatives in all countries with ports in the world, including Europe, Asia and America. With the developing tourism in Turkey, interest in cruise tourism has increased even more recently. We are especially experiencing high demand for Mediterranean coasts and Greek Islands tours. Cruise tours, which continue to offer early booking discounts, constitute an important part of our sales.”

The Number One Choice of Turkish Cruise Tourists is the Greek Islands

The proximity to Turkey, affordable prices and visa convenience have increased interest in the Greek islands. Approximately half of those who go on cruises prefer the Greek islands. You can visit many islands such as Kos, Crete, Rhodes, Mykonos, Milos and Santorini on Greek Islands cruise tours.

After the Greek islands, the most preferred programs in the summer months are the Mediterranean, Adriatic, and Norwegian Fjords tours. The Mediterranean and Adriatic Gulf, a classic cruise route, attract tourists from all over the world as well as Turkish tourists. The Norwegian Fjords tour, one of the most preferred destinations in the summer, offers the opportunity to discover Denmark and Norway.

The ongoing Schengen visa shortage has made the Far East and the Arabian Gulf attractive for the last two years. Visa-free Far East programs in particular are among the destinations that will gain the most popularity in 2025.

Five Star Hotel Comfort

One of the biggest factors in choosing cruise tours is the facilities offered. Cruise ships offer a wide range of food and beverage options. In addition to the main restaurants on the giant ships, there are open buffets, special restaurants and 24-hour cafes and bars.

There are different shows and entertainment events organized every evening on the ships, and many opportunities for passengers who love sports and active life, such as fitness centers, running tracks, basketball and tennis courts, swimming pools and water parks. Many services such as massage therapies, skin care, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi make your holiday even more enjoyable.

1 Million 470 Thousand Tourists Came in Nine Months

With these features, cruise tours, which have attracted great attention around the world, have created a huge market of 2023 billion dollars by the end of 25. The size of the cruise sector, which has regained its pre-pandemic passenger level, is expected to reach 20024 billion dollars by the end of 30.

Turkey is also among the places visited by cruise tour enthusiasts. According to the Ministry of Transport, the number of cruise ships that visited Turkish ports between January and September reached 912, and the number of passengers reached 1 million 470 thousand people. Kuşadası Port was the most popular destination with 653 thousand passengers, followed by Istanbul with 337 thousand passengers and Izmir with 128 thousand passengers.
