We design our business processes to minimize environmental impacts and aim to use resources efficiently. We are aware of our responsibilities in the fight against global climate change. At the center of our sustainability vision are carbon neutrality and carbon neutral accommodation strategies. Carbon-neutral accommodation and carbon-neutral event organization options are two of the important steps we take towards contributing to a sustainable future. This method allows our guests to neutralize carbon emissions resulting from their accommodation and activities. Our guests will play an active role in the fight against climate change thanks to the offset project they will support. Based on 2020, we aim to reduce our emissions from our operations by 2030 percent by 20 and to be carbon neutral in all our operations by 2050. Raising awareness by informing our guests and employees about carbon balancing plays an important role. In this process, our guests will now stay carbon neutral in a total of 6 hotels, namely Divan Istanbul, Divan Bodrum, Divan Çukurhan, Divan Ankara, Divan Istanbul City and Divan Bursa, and will be certified with a carbon offset certificate at the end of their stay. "We will also offer the carbon balancing option in all meetings and organizations to be held in these hotels."
Project Developed with Climateware
With the project developed by the climate technologies company Climateware, the carbon footprint calculation and offset service resulting from the accommodation and events of Divan guests will be used by Divan teams with software integration. After calculations are made with the software integrated into Divan systems, emissions will be offset according to the emission amount of the guests through the project chosen by the Divan Group in light of certain environmental criteria. Divan guests will be able to clearly see which United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) they have contributed to in the certificates they receive as a result of offset.
Climateware CEO İlker Turan, “We are proud to share with you the steps we have taken towards an innovative and sustainable future through the strategic partnerships we have established with industry-leading brands. Together with our valued business partner Divan, we reinforce our mission of reducing carbon footprint and disseminating carbon neutral practices. The calculation APIs we developed especially for Divan provide accurate emission data for accommodations and events, allowing real-time carbon balancing. In this way, Divan, which makes its accommodation carbon neutral, offers its guests a concrete environmentally friendly experience and makes them active participants in this meaningful change.”
