Çeşme Mayor Lal Denizli, who started the first race of the day and the series in the TYF Kamil Yıldırım Optimist Trophy Sailing Races, held for the second time this year by Çeşme West Sailing Club under the responsibility of the Turkish Sailing Federation, between 22-26 May 2024, stated that the organization is based on the rich sea of ​​Çeşme. Stating that it offers the opportunity to show its culture and achievements in sailing to our country and the world once again, he said, “Your determination, passion and effort play a major role in making Çeşme the indispensable address of sailing enthusiasts. Excitement is at its peak in Çeşme, which takes place in the magnificent atmosphere of Ilıca and is among the most beautiful tracks in Türkiye and the world. TYF Kamil Yıldırım Optimist Trophy Sailing Races, held for the second time this year between 2-22 May 26 by Çeşme West Sailing Club under the responsibility of the Turkish Sailing Federation, continue to be organized. In the races held in Çeşme Ilıca; 2024 athletes between the ages of 8-15, coming from various provinces of Turkey such as Aydın, Balıkesir, Çanakkale, Istanbul, Muğla and Antalya, compete in the optimist and optimist junior categories according to age group. In the race where hundreds of athletes from various parts of Turkey participated and 186 clubs competed, 22 referees affiliated with the Turkish Referee Federation are on duty. The races will end with the awards ceremony to be held on May 16.
