“Sustainability in Tourism is Our Responsibility for Future Generations”
Located on the shores of the endless blue in Bodrum, with its lush green landscape, gastronomic delights and unique spa, Kempinski Hotel Barbaros Bay Bodrum welcomes guests from all over the world while prioritizing sustainability...
Ferman Doğan, General Manager of Kempinski Hotel Barbaros Bay Bodrum, explains the sustainability efforts they implement at the hotel as follows; “As long as the world around us continues to change and develop, it is of great importance that we, as tourism businesses, continue to implement and renew sustainability practices. We can define sustainable tourism as enabling future generations to meet their needs by minimizing the impacts of natural, cultural and social life in the region we live in. In short, we need to focus on protecting our environment in every aspect.
As Kempinski Hotel Barbaros Bay Bodrum, we have implemented sustainable practices in different areas, from waste management to sustainable food practices, from artificial intelligence-supported guest services to product supply from local producers.
With our Digital Butler project, we personalize the guest experience using artificial intelligence and offer a faster and higher level of satisfaction service. We carry out effective waste management throughout our hotel and implement projects that ensure the correct and efficient use of energy resources. Most importantly, we provide training to all our employees on these issues throughout the year.
We carry out chemical-free, natural farming practices on the fertile lands of our Barbaros Farm, located in the Karaova region of Bodrum, which has not been cultivated for 70 years. We offer our guests the opportunity to participate in farm tours, collect products and experience farm life. We supply some of the organic ingredients in our menu from Barbaros Farm.
Last year, South Korean nature sculptor Bonggi Park created a sustainable artwork that emphasizes nature's connection with life and integrates with nature at Kempinski Hotel Barbaros Bay Bodrum. I can now say that hotels around the world that work on this issue are more preferred by guests.”
Emphasizing that artificial and robotic technologies will be of great importance in the future of tourism, Doğan says that artificial intelligence-based systems, technology and innovation should be on the agenda of brands, especially in order for the accommodation sector to exist in the future.
By combining luxury tourism, sustainability and artificial intelligence technology, Kempinski Hotel Barbaros Bay Bodrum supports a sustainable future while respecting the needs of future generations.
