Banvit BRF Recovered 43% of the Water It Purified

March 22nd is celebrated every year as "World Water Day". Banvit BRF, a leading company in its sector, emphasized the importance of natural resources and conservation on this special day, highlighting that only 1% of the world's water reserves, 70% of which is covered by water, is freshwater and usable. In line with its global parent company BRF's "Net Zero 2040" target, Banvit BRF , which focuses on sustainability in its operations, resolutely continues its water conservation practices.

Banvit BRF has implemented various practices to reduce its environmental footprint, ranging from water and energy conservation and the use of recyclable packaging to animal welfare practices, waste management, and training programs. Thanks to its "Wastewater Recycling Facility" located at its main campus in Bandırma, the company recovers an average of 43% of the water it treats to drinking water quality. In this way, it protects groundwater resources by recovering wastewater instead of using natural resources. Banvit BRF aims to reduce water usage in all its facilities by 13% by 2025.

Stating that they attach great importance to water saving and invest in this field Banvit BRF CEO Tolga Gündüz; “As a country, we are currently in a process where we face the danger of drought. Each of us has important duties in this regard. Being aware of our responsibility as one of Turkey's leading white meat producers, we have rearranged our production processes from a sustainability perspective. We plan to further reduce our water use in all our facilities by 2025. "We will continue our work, as we do today, without interruption, for a livable world, which is the most valuable legacy we will leave to our children," he said.

40 countries, which contain 80% of the world's population, are already experiencing water shortages. Being aware that Turkey has limited water resources, Banvit BRF reuses the water it uses in its production facilities with drinking water quality and prevents water waste through sustainability studies.
