Unilever Away Consumption and Big Chefs team up for animals
One of the speakers at the summit, TURYİD Vice President and Chairman of the Sustainability Committee, Big Chefs Co-founder Gamze Cizreli gave the signal for a new project that brings together Big Chefs and Unilever Out of Home Consumption. In his speech, Cizreli stated that Big Chefs and Unilever Out of Home Consumption are working on a project that will convert food waste into animal food in order to prevent food waste.
Unilever Out-of-Home Consumption, which has implemented works to stand by the sector and provide the support it needs, brought these practices together with the guests at the top. One of these services, the mobile application called UFS Academy, makes personal development opportunities available 7/24 for chefs and kitchen workers in their career journeys. With the OrderDirect application, which combines Unilever's wide portfolio and advantageous ordering experience, Unilever offers secure shopping services whenever and wherever the industry needs it. In addition to these practices, which it carried to the summit, the brand's works, which brought the unique tastes of Atelier Gelarto to the summit by establishing a tasting stand, were met with great interest by the guests.
Speaking at the 3rd Global Gastro Economy Summit, Unilever Out-of-Home Consumption General Manager Yılmaz Tokgöz said, “Sustainability is not a trend, but a vital necessity and a responsibility we must undertake. As one of the world's largest food producers, we know we have a role in shaping a fair food system for everyone. We don't limit this to just the impact of food waste on the planet. We consider it within a very broad framework, ranging from food waste to food security, from sustainable agriculture to healthy eating. With our Future of Foods vision, we want to offer people more plant-based nutrition options. Because we know that a change in this area has very valuable benefits for the health of both consumers and the planet. In this sense, we will continue to implement projects that make a difference to advance our sector and strengthen the awareness of every stakeholder in this ecosystem.”
